Ski resorts
One of the most famous ski resorts of South Tyrol is the Plan de Corones (German: Kronplatz), located between Val Pusteria (German: Pustertal) and Alta Badia (German: Abtei). This mountain is 2257 meters high and offer very modern ski and chair-lifts, where also queues have been abolished, being the Plan de Corones one of the most famous ski resorts in the "Dolomiti Superski" ski zone, the biggest and most modern in the world.
Thirteen ski resorts are part of the Plan de Corones, which lie between Val Pusteria and Val Badia: San Martino in Badia, Riscone, Brunico, San Vigilio di Marebbe, Rasun Anterselve, ecc are just some examples. The Plan de Corones doesn´t just offers sunny ski fields, but also Nordic Ski, sled fields and ice-skating rinks. A winter sport was invented in Valdaora (German: Olang), one of the most famous ski resorts in the "Dolomiti Superski" ski zones: the Rennböckl, a stool placed next to a ski, to slid on the snow very fast!
